| Muste Institute Staff Jeanne Strole, Co-Director, grew up on Long Island and while still in high school there became involved with Peacesmiths, a nonviolence and social justice group. She later moved to New York City and worked with Indymedia, a grassroots journalism collective. Jeanne joined the Muste Institute staff in 2003, bringing a diverse work history in media, graphic design and art. Jeanne is a skilled artist and continues to be involved in activist projects in her free time. Jane Guskin, Co-Director, became active in social justice efforts after a trip to Nicaragua in 1988. In 1990, after moving to New York City, she joined the Nicaragua Solidarity Network, a Muste Institute sponsored project and tenant group, where she began editing newsletters on Latin America and immigration issues. Jane joined the Muste Institute staff in 1993. She writes, edits, plays music and engages in activism in her free time. Jane is co-author of The Politics of Immigration: Questions and Answers, published in 2007 by Monthly Review Press. Eric Bachman, Program Associate, International Nonviolence Training Fund (INTF), joined the Muste Institute staff in 2009. He has more than 40 years of experience in nonviolence training, organizing grassroots peace and environmental campaigns, nonprofit administration, and information technology. Eric was based in Germany from 1969 until 2005, and traveled extensively in the Balkan region from 1991 to 1998. He now lives in Vermont. Salvador Suazo, Superintendent, has been handling cleaning and maintenance for the Muste Institute building since 1997.
